Village in the Phillipines almost completly wiped out
In Guinsaugon, Philippines, 1,800 people are reported either miising or dead due to a landslide within the village. Rescue workers had little hope of finding anybody saying that this town was swallowed by a wall of boulders and mud. There reports are that this village looks like a newly plowed patch of land. The lanslide was caused from weeks of rain. “Out of a population of 1,857, we have 57 survivors and 19 bodies,” Lt. Raul Fernacio said. “There are no signs of life, no rooftops, no nothing,” Southern Leyte province Gov. Rosette Lerias said. This village is 420 mile East of Manila.
